Mandaue City – Local running community Mandaue Runners Group (MRG) is set to celebrate its second anniversary with a fun run featuring 5-kilometer and 10-kilometer categories on June 28, 2026, at the Mandaue Sports Complex. Organizers say the event aims to gather runners of all levels to celebrate “two years, one community, one purpose” while promoting health, camaraderie and an active lifestyle in the city.
Founded as a small circle of running enthusiasts, MRG has since grown into a larger movement of recreational and competitive runners who regularly train and participate in local events. The anniversary run is being positioned not only as a race but also as a milestone activity for members and the wider public who have supported the group’s activities over the past two years.
The event will offer two distances: a 5KM category with a registration fee of Php 800 and a 10KM category priced at Php 1,100. All registrants are entitled to an official race shirt, a 3.5-inch metallic finisher medal, race bib, post-race meal and a raffle entry, with 10KM runners also receiving a free trucker cap.
Early registrants who signed up between February 14 and March 14 were also given an additional incentive in the form of a free headtube. Organizers said the premium race kit and added freebies are part of their effort to give participants a memorable experience in line with the group’s anniversary.
Registration is available online through the event page hosted by MegatechPH Events and onsite at the MegaWear Store in Jamestown, Mandaue City, located between Parkmall and Chong Hua Hospital, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily. The last day of registration is on Saturday, and organizers are encouraging interested runners to secure their slots early to ensure they receive all inclusions.
To deliver a smooth and well-organized race, MRG has partnered with Megawear Cebu and KNC Entertainment Production, with support from the Mandaue City Government. The collaboration covers race shirts, medals, program management and production support to create a festive atmosphere before, during and after the run.
In its official post, MRG described the anniversary event as more than just a typical fun run, calling it “a celebration of progress, a testament to community strength, and a reminder that we run better together.” Group members and followers on social media have responded positively, tagging friends and encouraging each other to join either the 5KM or 10KM distance.
